Design
The exterior of the 2020 Terrain has bold lines and a signature grille that wears the GMC logo proudly. LED headlights and taillights have a unique C-shape that adds to the personality of the crossover SUV while providing visibility in all conditions. Upgrading to the Denali version adds chrome detailing, including the satin-chrome finish on the Denali multi-dimensional grille.
GMC made sure that passengers will enjoy a quiet ride with acoustic-laminated glass and active noise cancellation. The new Terrain can comfortably hold up to five passengers and offers available heated and ventilated front seats. The available SkyScape® Power Sunroof provides extra sunshine or great views at night for stargazing.
Performance
There are two engine choices on the 2020 Terrain:
- 170-horsepower 1.5L Turbocharged 4-cylinder engine: estimated 26 city/30 highway mpg
- 252-horsepower 2.0L Turbocharged 4-cylinder engine: estimated 21 city/26 highway mpg
Both engines are paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission with the availability of upgrading to all-wheel drive (AWD). The Traction Select System helps you choose your driving mode in front wheel drive to optimize fuel efficiency. On the available AWD, Traction Select allows you to adjust the power to wheels to get more control in icy or off-road conditions, and allows you to choose trailering mode when you need to haul extra cargo.
Technology and Safety
Each model is equipped with a 7” touchscreen that uses the GMC Infotainment System. There’s also an available built-in GPS for navigation. Upgrade to the available Bose® Premium 7-Speaker Audio system for high-quality sound when you’re listening to music or the news.
